A year living under the shadow of war in one Ukrainian community

As the war in Ukraine enters its 20th month, there's no end in sight, just brutally slow advances, where soldiers fight for weeks over metres of territory on the frontlines.

Meanwhile, some neighbourhoods feel like they’re frozen in time, with civilians rebuilding their streets brick by brick. Matt Frei looks at one community, over the course of one year - which is living in the shadow of war.

On the outskirts of Chernihiv city, near the border with Belarus, are the suburbs of Novoselivka and Bobrovytsya. Both were heavily bombarded in the first weeks of the invasion.
