A-level students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland are preparing for their results, after more than two years of schooling were thrown into turmoil by the pandemic.

Thousands of pupils are facing lower grades than last year with competition for university places expected to be fierce.

But the Education Secretary James Cleverly told Sky News most students should still get onto their first choice university course.
