William Shatner has blasted off on Blue Origin’s New Shepherd rocket, becoming the oldest intergalactic explorer to date. The four-man mission is part of Jeff Bezos’ plans to move into private space tourism, and was launched from Corn Ranch, West Texas.

Shatner has admitted to being apprehensive about the trip, telling the audience at New York Comic Con: ‘I’m planning on putting my nose against the window [once I’m in space], and my only hope is I won’t see someone else looking back.’

Bet if he did, whoever it was would want an autograph.
