Preparations are underway in Normandy for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, Allied troops from the USA, Great Britain, Canada and France began liberating Western Europe from Nazi Germany. During World War II, more than 150,000 soldiers landed on the Atlantic beaches in northern France to fight against Hitler's Germany.
