The six children of a woman deemed a national security risk have been freed from a detention camp for captured ISIS members and they are now in Canada.

A Global Affairs email to the family says they arrived in Montreal. They had been living in a camp in north east Syria.

Internal government memos obtained by Global News refer to their mother only as FJ and they show that she was considered a Canadian extremist traveler.

Nathaniel Dove reports.
