Amir Locke was killed by a Minneapolis SWAT team during the execution of a controversial no-knock warrant, which saw officers announce their presence only after crossing the property threshold.
The 22-year-old’s parents and their attorneys argued that Locke, who wasn’t the target of the warrant, reached for a weapon in self-defense after being woken by the team’s sudden entry and was effectively ‘executed’ by the officers.
