Some Canadian tourists in Mexico's Sinaloa state are returning home after a wave of violence erupted this week, shutting airports and prompting an advisory to shelter in place.
Nineteen suspected gang members and 10 military personnel were killed following the arrest of Mexican drug cartel boss Ovidio Guzman.
Two airports in the region have reopened with flights back to Canada scheduled on Saturday, but Canadians are still being advised to avoid travel to the region if possible.
