The lone gunman who opened fire in a lecture hall at university in Heidelberg, Germany was an 18-year-old biology student with no criminal history, police said Monday.

Officials said one of the four people wounded in the attack has since died from her injuries.

Police said the attacker bought two guns abroad, but did not say which country the weapons had come from.

Investigators have searched the home of the gunman in Mannheim, but police say it is too early to determine a motive for the attack.
