Many Canadians want to continue working from home, with one in three (32 per cent) saying that they’d be willing to change jobs if their employer forced them to work exclusively at an office, a new Ipsos poll suggests.

This sentiment was more widely shared among those aged 18 to 34 (42 per cent) than those aged 35 to 54 (29 per cent) and 55 and over (22 per cent).

"Many Canadians want the changes that the pandemic brought to the workplace to be permanent and for things to not go back to the way they were before [the pandemic began]," said Sean Simpson, senior vice-president of Ipsos.

As Anne Gaviola reports, Canadian workers are split on the return to the office but united in embracing flexible schedules.
