1 dead, 20 injured in shooting at Juneteenth celebration outside Chicago

At least 20 people were shot, one fatally, at a Juneteenth celebration outside Chicago shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

The celebration attracted a large group of people that had gathered at a parking lot in Willowbrook, Illinois, 39 km outside of Chicago, authorities said.

DuPage County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Eric Swanson said authorities are still investigating the motive and number of shooters involved.

Juneteenth is a U.S. federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans.
