Nearly 5,000 people have fled fighting in Venezuela and taken refuge in neighbouring Colombia after the Venezuelan army launched an operation against armed groups at its border.
The Venezuelan military described it as an operation to rout “irregular Colombian armed groups".
|But some who have fled the fighting have accused the Venezuelan military of abuses, including extrajudicial killings.

Al Jazeera’s Alessandro Rampietti reports from Arauquita in Colombia, on the border with Venezuela.
