प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 28 मई को संसद की नई और शानदार इमारत का उद्घाटन करेंगे. लेकिन उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में ज्यादातर विपक्षी पार्टियां नहीं होंगी. अब तक 20 विपक्षी पार्टियां नई संसद के उद्घाटन के बहिष्कार का ऐलान कर चुकी हैं. विपक्ष की दलील है कि नई संसद का उद्घाटन राष्ट्रपति को करना चाहिए ना कि प्रधानमंत्री को. वहीं बीजेपी विपक्ष की दलीलों को बेबुनियाद करार दे रही है. ऑस्ट्रेलिया के नेता प्रतिपक्ष पीटर डटन ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की जमकर ताऱीफ की। उन्होंने दावा किया कि ऑस्ट्रेलिया का कोई भी नेता दुनिया के दूसरे कोने में 20000 लोगों की भीड़ नहीं जुटा सकते। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि वो भीड़ मोदी-मोदी जैसे उनके उपनाम के नारे भी नहीं लगा सकती है।
