Emergency crews in the United States are battling to contain dozens of wildfires burning across 10 western states.
Thousands of people have been moved from their homes.
In California, a state known for its many wildfires, the area of land burned has more than tripled since last year.
The Bootleg Fire in Oregon is the largest blaze - an area twice the size of the city of Portland - is in flames and is disrupting power transmission lines to California.
Thousands of people across many states have been evacuated.
In Oregon, heat-related deaths are also on the rise.
Many have died alone in their homes, with temperatures reaching 46 degrees Celsius (115 degrees Fahrenheit).

Al Jazeera’s Katia Lopez-Hodayan reports.
