The Conservative Party is waiting to find out who will put themselves forward for the upcoming leadership contest after Rishi Sunak announced he would stand down.

Former Conservative chancellor Nadhim Zahawi said it was time for the party to re-group.

No date has been announced for the leadership race, but senior Tories have suggested that any decision should be made after the party conference season.
