US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan says the Biden administration does not view the killings of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel as a genocide.

“We do not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide. We have been firmly on record rejecting that proposition,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan, speaking to reporters at the White House, said the US wants to see Hamas defeated, Palestinians caught in the middle of the war are in “hell” and a major military operation by Israel in Rafah would be a mistake.

Jake Sullivan was questioned by Al Jazeera's White House Correspondent, Kimberly Halkett.
