The COVID-19 pandemic boosted the popularity of online shopping as Canadians could not go into the stores themselves to purchase items like shoes, clothing and other merchandise, but such a boost also meant a big price tag and logistical headache for returns.

As a result, some companies are getting rid of their free returns policy and are starting to charge for online returns.
