Leaders of G7 nations, including Canada, have concluded their three-day summit in the United Kingdom, during which China was declared a systemic security risk.

Tensions between Canada and China have been rising since 2018 when Beijing arrested Canadians Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, in what many view as a retaliatory measure.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been unwilling to take any real action against Chinese President Xi Jinping, who's foreign policy has been nicknamed "Wolf Warrior Diplomacy."

While Western allies locked arms to take aim at Beijing during June's G7 and NATO meetings, challenging China could come with severe consequences. Jeff Semple explains.
