West Bengal Chief Secretary Alpan Bandopadhyay has been transferred. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has sent a letter to the West Bengal government asking that Bandopadhyay be relieved. According to the letter, he will have to report to the department in Delhi by 31 May. The Center has taken this step at a time when a dispute arose over the meeting of PM Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday.
