Nigerian protesters have defied a curfew during a face-off with security forces, as demonstrations against police brutality threaten to paralyse the nation.
The rights group Amnesty International says at least 12 people were killed in Lagos on Tuesday night, blaming the violence on the military.
The protests started two weeks ago over a police unit accused of murder, extortion and disappearances.
