A study by Future Forum in June 2021 found that only 3 percent of Black employees in white collar jobs wanted to return to the office, compared to 21 percent of white employees. The PBS NewsHour's digital correspondent Nicole Ellis spoke with Y-Vonne Hutchinson, the CEO and founder of Ready Set, a workplace inclusivity consulting firm, about what we've learned about workplace racism during the pandemic, and what Black employees have experienced the last two years. The author of "How to Talk to Your Boss About Race" also offers some tips for how to talk about race in your own workplace, especially when undergoing a transition back to in-person work.
