In his response to President Joe Biden’s address to Congress on April 28, Sen. Tim Scott, R-N.C., praised the country’s economic growth under Republican Party leadership. He also touted the GOP’s criminal justice reform efforts and funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
“Our best future will not come from Washington schemes or socialist dreams,” Scott said, referring to initiatives supported by Democrats.
“We are not adversaries, we are family,” he added. “We are all in this together.”
Moments before Scott spoke, Biden delivered his address live at the U.S. Capitol, though the crowd was socially distanced and significantly scaled back due to COVID-19 protocols.
