WATCH: Nurse Sandra Lindsay looks back on the year since her historic 1st COVID vaccine

One year ago, nurse Sandra Lindsay sat down in a slate blue chair at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, rolled up her white sleeve and made history, becoming the first person in the United States (outside clinical trials) to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Looking at the hospital where she has worked for years, as well as how life has changed since multiple COVID-19 vaccines became available, Lindsay told the PBS NewsHour, “it's a stark contrast to where we were a year ago."

Lindsay talked to NewsHour health reporter Laura Santhanam about progress against the virus, how she regards the omicron variant and where she hopes the U.S. is a year from now
