Jens Stoltenberg will stay on as NATO secretary general for another year as allies agreed to extend his term because of the grave security crisis triggered by Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, an unprecedented trio of summits will take place in Brussels today: 30 member nations of NATO have been joined via video link by the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the European Council and G7 have also held separate meetings to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

Expect numerous key announcements to follow. Among them:

???? More sanctions on Russia: probably on more members of the Russian Parliament - the Duma.
????Detail of massive military defensive reinforcements along NATO's eastern flank. Eight battle groups - four more than existing numbers - and deployed in four Eastern European counties.
