As President Joe Biden faces calls within the Democratic Party to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz calls it a "mistake to underestimate" him.

In an exclusive interview Thursday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke to PBS News' Amna Nawaz about Biden and his 2024 candidacy following his debate performance in late June.

"As someone that is speaking with Biden, he is very focused and he is very, intensely doing what the president of the United States has to do for leading the alliance," Scholz said.

Scholz is in Washington this week for the NATO summit.
