The Inflation Reduction Act that President Joe Biden helped push through Congress last year was a major - and surprising - piece of action aimed at addressing climate change, according to experts and advocates.

Biden is expected to speak on that act and other issues facing the country during his Feb. 7 State of the Union address, which comes as climate disasters continue to cause billions of dollars in damage to infrastructure across the nation.
