Uvalde school shooting: Merrick Garland announces results of report on police response | LIVE

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland will announce the results of a review into the law enforcement response on Thursday to the 2022 mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

The Department of Justice review is expected to revive the scrutiny of the hundreds of officers who responded to the 2022 massacre, but waited more than an hour to confront and kill the gunman.

Uvalde, a community of more than 15,000 continues to grapple with the trauma from the killing of 19 elementary school students and two teachers. The shooting has already been the subject of legislative hearings and a damning report by Texas lawmakers who faulted law enforcement at every level.
