US actor Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in jail, followed by 12 months of supervised release, fined $30,000 (€26,900) and given 250 hours of community service at a court in Boston, Friday, for her role in the US college admissions bribing scandal.
Huffman was sentenced for conspiring to pay $15,000 (€13,450) to a fake charity in return for her daughter's SAT answers to be improved to raise her score to 1420.
Some 34 people have been charged of activities involving cheating on college entrance exams and bribing colleges to gain admission for their children, with Huffman the first parent to face punishment for the scandal.
Sentences for the others charged are expected to be similar.
