U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden made a surprise short speech to his supporters in the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware as votes are being counted for the 2020 election across the country.

He urged his supporters to hang tight as final results will most likely be delayed.

“We can know the results as early as tomorrow morning, but it could take a little longer." He said.

The former vice-president also told his supporters that he’s going to win Pennsylvania, but “it’s going to take some time” to count all the votes due to a high number of mail-in and absentee ballots submitted this year.

Biden also said he’s “feeling confident” about winning Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan.

He concluded by stressing that voters should not believe any premature declarations of victory by his opponent, President Donald Trump, saying “it is not his place or Donald Trump's place to declare who's won this election,” but rather the American people’s decision once all votes are counted.
