U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled massive diplomatic penalties against China on Friday, accusing them of breaking their word on Hong Kong, covering up the true extent of the dangers posed by COVID-19, intellectual property theft, and a host of other accusations.

President Trump also said the U.S. is breaking off ties with the World Health Organization.

“Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent global public health needs,” Trump told reporters.

Trump said China "broke their word to the world on ensuring the autonomy of Hong Kong" as well as blaming China for covering up what he called the "Wuhan virus."

Trump also said he will suspend entry of certain foreign nationals from China who have been identified as potential "security risks."

Trump also called on the State Department to raise the travel advisory for Hong Kong to reflect an "increased danger of surveillance" from China's "security apparatus."

The conference also comes as protests over the death of George Floyd are taking place across the U.S. after Floyd died during a police arrest.

Trump signed an executive order on Thursday calling for new regulations on social media giants and the possible stripping away of a so-called immunity shield that protects social media firms from litigation.
