The Lucknow police has stopped a march by student groups to protest what they said was soaring unemployment in Uttar Pradesh and the paper leak of a major exam last week. The issue of jobs is playing out in a big manner in the election campaign for all parties ahead of the crucial UP assembly election next year. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claims his government has provided 4.5 lakh jobs in the state while the opposition, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav say the Chief Minister is lying.
