Despite an ongoing pro-Palestinian encampment, University of Toronto's spring convocation ceremonies commenced as scheduled, with numerous graduates receiving their diplomas on Monday.

The encampment, the subject of impending legal action by the university, stands near Convocation Hall, where thousands are expected to attend upcoming ceremonies until June 21.
