Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to call for more heavy weaponry from the West when he addresses the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland virtually on Wednesday.

Zelenskyy's comments come as a helicopter crash near the capital killed at least 15 people, including Ukraine’s interior minister, other officials and three children, according to authorities. There was no immediate word on whether the crash, which was near a kindergarten, was an accident or related to the war.

The WEF meeting was preceded by a bleak report that warns of “polycrises” interplaying in the future, including climate change and natural resource shortages.

The town in the Swiss Alps is hosting 52 heads of state and government, as well as nearly 600 CEOs, according to the organization. The annual meeting began on Jan. 16 and will run until Jan. 20.
