UK aims to become main player in commercial space flights

It has been more than six decades since Cold War rivalries fueled a space race between the two superpowers - the United States and the Soviet Union.
These days space has opened up, and is much less ideological.
More than 70 countries now have space programmes - and increasingly, private companies are doing much of the heavy lifting.
No European country has yet to put anything into space from home soil.
Next year, the United Kingdom intends to be the first.
