Uganda to pass law criminalizing genders other than man and woman | DW News

Uganda's parliament is expected to vote today on a law that would increase prison sentences for homosexual acts to a maximum of ten years. Gay sex is already banned under laws from the colonial era. But the latest proposal goes much further, it also criminalises anyone who claims a gender identity "other than male and female". Support in parliament appears to be strong.
