A man in his 30s was hospitalized on Thursday after being stabbed at the TTC’s Eglinton Station on Thursday.

Footage of an altercation between the victim and the attacker was captured by a subway passenger, while other riders scrambled away from the violence.

In a statement issued online, the TTC says its thoughts are with the victim, who is currently in stable condition. The transport service added that customer safety is paramount to all it does, and that violence is unacceptable.

Regarding Torontonians’ ongoing concerns about TTC safety, the city’s next mayor, Olivia Chow, admitted she has not had enough time to tackle the issue.
