The tension was tangible in NYC this weekend as pro- and anti-Donald Trump protesters battled it out on the streets of Manhattan.
It happened when hundreds of vehicles rolled from Coney Island to Brooklyn via Manhattan as part of a ‘Jews For Trump’ convoy, the cars draped with American flags and Trump 2020 banners.
The convoy wasn’t met with much support by fellow New Yorkers, with memorabilia being ripped off and replaced with smashed eggs and pebble dents.
In Times Square, protesters had gathered to demonstrate against the current president. But with just nine days until the election and emotions running high, the opposing groups didn’t manage to keep it civil (in the slightest).
Police squads were seen dragging rival protesters apart after differences in opinion turned physical, with multiple fights breaking out in the street.
Eleven people were arrested.
