Protesters were seen in West Bengal, occupying rail tracks and disrupting train services. Among those who are protesting today are the party workers of the Left and the Congress, marching to support the all-India (Bharat Bandh) strike against the Centre for its economic policies that have, they say, hurt the common people. While fewer state-run buses were seen in Kolkata, there were hardly any cabs on roads. The Trinamool Congress - opposed to protests ever since it has been in government -- is supporting their issues.
