Petrol prices in three metro cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata have gone up by almost 2 per litre between April 2 and April 5, 2022, touching record highs as state-owned fuel retailers hiked the rates again today by 80 paise for the 13th time in the past 15 days. Delhi's three municipal agencies, run by the BJP, have been merged into one today, after the Rajya Sabha passed a bill to this effect. It was already cleared by the Lok Sabha. South Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor has asked the SDMC Commissioner to ban all the meat shops located in his jurisdiction. Meat shop owners say the order will result in losses worth lakhs of rupees to them. Sri Lanka Crisis: Lanka's ruling coalition lost its parliamentary majority as former allies urged the President's resignation, following days of protests over the island nation's crippling economic crisis.
