During election time, TMC had demanded from the election commission the removal of PM Modi's posters from petrol pumps. TMC had objected to this as its projects central government schemes. The Election Commission of India has directed petrol pumps to remove hoardings containing the Prime Minister's photograph within 72 hours. Significantly, the assembly elections are to be held in five states in March-April.
