Thousands of runners clad in Santa Claus costumes dashed through the streets of Riga’s Old Town on Sunday to raise money for children suffering from locomotor disorders.
Driven by the generous idea to help children with disabilities, citizens of Riga covered a distance of 1,2 km (0.75 miles) in Santa garb, marking the 11th time the race has taken place in the city.
The participants of the charity race reportedly collected over 10,000 Euro ($11,388) for the cause, which will be spent on purchasing the up-to-date robotic G-EO System, which is a gait-training machine that helps with rehabilitation.
