Thousands of French police officers took to the streets outside the National Assembly on Wednesday in Paris, France to demand the government crack down on violence against police officers, with some booing the interior minister who attended the rally in solidarity.
Police unions say the French government is failing to protect officers from daily attacks that leave some afraid to do their job.
The protest took place after two separate events in which a police officer was killed during an anti-narcotics operation and a police force employee stabbed to death outside her station.
The unions are demanding a minimum prison sentence for anyone who attacks an officer.
