If you’ve ever complained that the news is biased, spare a thought for Afghan TV network Peace Studio. Footage has emerged of what appears to be Taliban militants storming the network’s Kabul studio, demanding the presenter read out a pro-Taliban statement.
According to reports, the anchor was forced to tell viewers that the Islamic Emirate – the Taliban’s preferred name – wants the public to ‘cooperate with it and should not be afraid’. He said this while two militants stood on either side of him with guns, which was possibly giving out mixed messages.
It must have been one hell of a relief to hand over to the weather.
