More than 1,000 people have been killed and 1,500 injured after a powerful earthquake struck south-eastern Afghanistan.

The country has called for aid agencies to send teams to the area.

Afghanistan is already in one of the world's worst humanitarian crises with millions in a state of poverty after international financing to the Taliban was cut-off.
