Taiwan rebukes Elon Musk for asserting that the island is an integral part of China. Taiwan's government has declared the island is 'not for sale' as a stern rebuke to Elon Musk, who asserted that it is an integral part of China.
Foreign Minister Joseph Wu writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, said emphatically that Taiwan was NOT a part of the PRC or People's Republic of China. He also suggested Musk ask China to make his company, X available in the country, where it is currently banned. Previously Elon Musk stated, that
"their [Beijing's] policy has been to reunite Taiwan with China. From their standpoint, maybe it is analogous to Hawaii or something like that, like an integral part of China that is arbitrarily not part of China mostly because ... the U.S. Pacific Fleet has stopped any sort of reunification effort by force"
