Symptomatic Cases Rise Amid Concerns Over Delta+ Variant In Maharashtra

Seventy-six cases of Delta plus have been reported in Maharashtra; five deaths linked to the variant have been recorded so far. Questions are also being raised if the variant will have an impact on the efficacy of vaccines. Ten out of 76 patients infected by the Delta Plus variant of the coronavirus in Maharashtra had taken both doses of the vaccine. In Mumbai, currently over 50 per cent of Covid patients are symptomatic.
