The Sri Lankan Parliament will elect the new president to succeed Gotabaya Rajapaksa by July 20, sources have said.A Parliament session will be convened on Friday to finalise the name. The decision was taken during a crucial all-party meeting yesterday. President Rajapaksa has informed the speaker and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that he will resign on Wednesday.
