Spanish officials and authorities are investigating after at least six letter bombs were sent to a various embassies, ministries and an arms company over the past week. It has prompted the country to step up security and vow not to be deterred from supporting Ukraine.

The campaign began with a package sent to Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Nov. 24, and at least five more were seen since Wednesday. A security officer was slightly injured by one sent to the Ukrainian embassy, with another found at the U.S. embassy on Thursday. An arms factory in northeastern Ukraine that makes grenades sent to Ukraine also received one of the letters.

Rafael Perez, the country's deputy interior minister, told reporters the homemade devices were sent in brown packages containing a flammable powder and tripwire that would generate "sudden flames" rather than an explosion.
