Spain energy crisis: Shop lights off at 10pm and ACs set at 27C

From Wednesday, European Union member states are no longer allowed to import coal from Russia.
It is part of the sanctions package the bloc agreed to impose on Moscow.
To cope with the hard turn away from Russian energy, EU countries have been setting consumption caps.
In Spain, all businesses will have to turn their window lights off at 10pm, and this will also apply to public buildings which are not in use and illumination on buildings and monuments. However, street lighting will not be affected.
Air conditioning in public buildings must not be lower than 27 degrees Celsius (80.6 degrees Fahrenheit) in the summer.
These temperature limits will also apply to cultural venues, hotels, cinemas, train and bus stations, airports and large stores, but not offices in general.
The measures will be reversed in winter when regulations will ban indoor areas from being warmed above 27C.
However, residents say it is too hot to comply.
