Players of the Czech national ice hockey team held a pre-match training in Bratislava on Friday, ahead of their IIHF World Championship semi-final clash against Canada.
Some of the players, including NHL stars Radek Faksa, Ondrej Palat and Radko Gudas were seen playing football outside Ondrej Nepela Arena. Many, as forwards Jacub Vrana and Philip Chytil, decided to make the most of their training time ahead of the match and practiced on ice with the goalkeepers.
Calgary Flames winger Michael Frolik and Philadelphia Flyers' Jacub Voracek skipped the training and chose instead to rest, after Thursday's hard-fought quarter-final against Germany, which Milos Riha's side won 5-1.
The 2019 ice hockey world championship semi-final between Czech Republic and Canada will take place in Bratislava on Saturday, at 20:15 local time (18:15 GMT).
Before that, Russia and Finland will come out on ice of Ondrej Nepela Arena at 16:15 local time (14:15 GMT) to determine the first finalist of the tournament.
