Singapore will repeal its colonial-era law banning gay sex, effectively de-criminalizing homosexuality. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made the announcement at the annual national day rally saying that society was more accepting of gay people. He added that he hoped this would provide some relief to gay Singaporeans.
However, the Prime Minister stressed that there would be no change in the legal definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman.
